Been there many times. Wouldnât recommend inflatables due to rocks and water levels often low. Youâll pull your boats about the last 1.5 miles as you walk the trail and pull your boat with a long line. We usually use 2 lines, front/back for control going around bends, etc. Returning with the flow youâll go over rocks. Holes in the river usually no more than waist high. Normal wind from SW. Bad winds? Avoid east end thatâs all boulders. Waves can become nasty. If youâre going to NW area, cross at the Narrows. Lightening issues? Stay close to shoreline and trees. Bears do exist around there. Ranger station on east end close to lake outlet and often paddles out to campsites to inspect for violations. Youâll need long lines for pulling up supplies over the bear logs up in the trees. Usually many eagles, lots of river otters always curious about people.
ChuckGuy - thanks for chiming in. Good info & detail, I appreciate it.
Thanks!
