Hi, I am hoping that someone on here has some good first or second-hand knowledge of the Liard from Liard Hot Springs through the Grand Canyon of the Liard. I’ve done the topo analysis and satellite images and get that it is difficult/impossible for even decked tripping canoes. However, due to the desire to do the entire river, it seems a shame to break it up if there are reasonable portages around the more problematic (foolhardy) rapids or if they ease up with lower water levels. Would be running August or September to shoot for lower water (though that could hurt upstream) and to avoid the peak bug season. Thanks!
