Looking for info on Lake Apopka in Florida

We are thinking of paddling in Lake Apopka in Hernando ,Florida
We saw a launch area where route 200 and 41 come together.
Has any here ever paddle there and can tell us what it is like ?
Should we head north, south or across to Potts Preserve?

I am confused…Isn’t that Lake Hernando at the intersection of 200 and 41? The only Lake Apopka I know is near Orlando and I would rather bike the north shore than paddle any of that wide open bowl.

I don’t know if there is any launch at Lake Hernando park. I have seen it but paid more attention to the busy intersection there.
