Well the Yamaha takes about a year plus or minus to accumulate 100 hours… the next maintenance $$$. The kayak engine runs , or idles , 24/7. It gets 100 hours in about four days. Cost per hour might just work out better than you think. Just remember though that the “kayak engine” needs taking care of whether the kayak goes out or not. AND kayaking can be good for the body.
