Was the Mad River Eclipse made in both Royalex and the thinner Royalite? How would you tell the difference between the two?
I’m pretty sure it was only available in regular Royalex. I have seen catalogs that specify as much… no mention of other materials offered. If you have the boat, it should weight +/- 64lbs, and if you are familiar with Royalex, Royalite is visually much thinner.
Just found out the canoe is a 1997 with aluminum rails, it was stored in a garage. Is this still prone to “cold cracks”?
Being inside… especially if heated… and not having wood rails would minimize the chance of cold cracks greatly. Having said that that, I have seen cold cracks happen with every type of rail.
