Has anyone out there paddled a Mad River Expedition 18-6 or 17-6? Impressions?
I paddled 18.6 few hours
I paddled MR Expedition 18.6 during few hours in bow and in stern positions.
Canoe is capable to maintain 6.5km/h cruising speed all day. But 7km/h is hard to maintain.
Bottom flexes slightly when unloaded but I think this does not affect very much to its performance.
Canoe has nice combination of speed, stability and manouverability for flat water usage. It does not get affected to wind very much when unloaded but I haven’t paddled it in tough wind so I cannot comment how it behaves in tough conditions.
Seat heights are very good for comfort as in MR Explorer.
