We are going to do a short trip down the Green River at Mammoth Cave NP next week. We are planning to start at the Dennison Ferry site and stop two nights at either the back country sites in the park or on islands, and take out at Houchins Ferry. We will have one canoe and one kayak. Has anyone done this section of the river?
Yes, back in the 70s. Did one overnight
on a secluded section of riverbank. Based on recent rainfall, you should have good water to deal with small shoals. Plan to help one another in teams if you have to climb a steep bank to reach a prime campsite.
How did the trip go?
