Considering purchasing a used Merrimack Souhagen ( 1999 Carbin/ kevlar). Will be using it in flat water and some class I. I plan on using it mainly as a double but some solo. Any imput on this canoe would be appreciated. Sorry about the previous posts. Not use to this lap top.

My brother had one. They are certainly beautiful boats. He offered it to me for sale years ago, but I passed on it (I paddle strictly solo) and have always regretted it. He and his wife used it a lot in the Okefenokee Swamp. From the specs. it looks like a good stable boat for light tandem tripping or longer solo trips in easy water. I wouldn’t want to go rock bashing with it though, if for no other reason than to keep it looking good. Your intended C-I use should be fine…any canoe can handle C-I. But if rocky rivers are your primary destination, I’d buy a Royalex boat.
