I was interested in some adventureous white water kayaking, but not too wild. I am looking at three rivers in the western part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Montreal, Black and Presque Isle).
Does anyone have any experience with day or overnight trips down these rivers? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Except, possibly, for the Montreal, you
have until next spring to plan. The Montreal, at least the final portion below the dam, can be run in some summer periods. I visited the other two in a typical summer, and they were way too low.
It is also my impression, from what I have read, that these are not overnighter runs. One goes with just basic equipment so the boat responds in whitewater.
You should check the americanwhitewater.org site for more information.
