I saw that the DNR has reported ice out on two lakes in south central MN as of 4/09, Iowa and Hall. Here’s a link for ice out reports for MN lakes, including dates for previous years:

Interestingly it ought to give you hope… Those little lakes were out the same time last year and everything for the most part followed quickly.
Not as much hope as 2012. We Northerners love our ice out history… and watch for the collapsing stick figures that we bet on.
