Looks like an ordinary tree.
I’m paddling past the tip and WHOOSH a brown furry bullet comes shooting out straight towards me with all the drama of a cornered animal that has to move towards the human to get away. Turns out the tree is hollow with room for aquatic rodents to hang out. Now I leave a little more room when I pass the tree.
