Hey all, I just bought a nova craft prospector 17 with the intentions of going on some trips that would last 4 to 5 days. I grew up on the lakes of Minnesota and miss spending time in the water. I have paddled a little bit, but would still consider myself a novice. Do any of you all know of any trips in Virginia where I could begin to improve and gain experience? Thanks in advance.

There’s a lot of canoeable water in Virginia. Join whichever club is local to you and start going on their trips. They can advise you on water levels and what is appropriate for your skill level.
