Just bought this little rig and set it up today any thoughts or advice

Enjoy. Invest in a good PFD and try to avoid area’s with motorized boat traffic
Second the PFD advice. If finance allows, a fish finder/GPS unit would be nice. Coming from a river flyfishing background, I used to Pooh Pooh the use of electronics. But, if you are fishing ponds/lakes a fish finder is great for locating structure (as opposed to fish) other than usual shallow water weedbed lines and lily pads. Find structure, find and catch fish.
I have a portable Garmin Striker 4 model for my fishing canoe that I like. No install needed and easy to use (unlike a more expensive model semi permanently installed in my Hobie).
