Sorry to hear that. I am always cautious when surfing my waveski in areas when seals are present. (I am not as spooked in my bigger/longer seakayak.) I used to surf Jenness, NH and Wells and Oqunquit, ME, quite a bit. Not uncommon to sea seals pop their heads up, outside the breaking surf zone, where the surfers are lined up. Always freaked me out because of what the seals increasingly attract in the northeast.
