Anyone out there know what the boating laws (for Canoes) in North Carolina says about life jacket use and boat registration? I always were a jacket but still I’m currious of the laws. Thanks for any help!
Non Motorized
vessels do not require registration. I think PFD laws are left up to local communities, some of which are very heavy boating areas such as the ICW around Wrightsville Beach.

for canoes and kayaks (non-motorized) no registration is required. a life jacket must be available for each person in the craft, but do not have to be worn except for children. for a complete rundown of nc boating rules check out www.ncwildlife.org -harry
