New Cookset?

Time for a new Cookset / pots and pans. Looking for something to canoe with that isn’t crazy heavy. I want to be able fry fish and actually cook. I would like something more than just a boil water setup. What do you like? Do you like the removeable handles?

No on the removable handles
I haven’t met a recent cookset I like. I seek pots with bail handles ( attached) and a non stick surface.

For now I pray that my old GSI cookset with the grooved base ( so handy for cooking on small backpacking stoves) that eliminates slide even when the kit is not level, holds together. My old cookset does not have bail handles and the detachable handle is prone to bending. What this means is that the handle can lose the pot if loaded. This has happened to me so many times especially with a lightly loaded pot.

Two pieces
Get a good Calphalon hard anodized skillet like http://store.calphalon.com/calphalon-commercial-hard-anodized-12-in-omelette-pan/334899

They can often be found at HomeGoods or Marshals for under $50.

And an aluminum caldero like this http://www.imusausa.com/portfolio-items/evolution-non-stick-cast-aluminum-caldero-3-7qt-6-9qt/

Cut down the handle on the skillet if you want.

Take a look at the Banks fry pan. They make two sizes. You can fry, bake, use in the fire pit, on the stove, I love it and will use it always.
