New to kayaking RVA

So, I just moved to Richmond VA and I’m very new to kayaking. I got a kayak as a gift for my birthday last year and was only able to take it out once before winter and do not want to invest in winter gear in case i don’t really enjoy it. I was wondering if anyone new of a good place to take some classes. Thank you in advance

shops near Richmond…
I Google’d these shops up …prolly as good a spot as any to to get info from, for a start …

…a few minutes in Google would prolly locate more kayak shops near you, that give instructions.

Virginia Paddling Meetup

A good group. I used to paddle with them, but I now live in Northern VA and started my own group there. I padded the entire James from Richmond to the Chesapeake Bay. There are also members of Chesapeake Paddlers Associate in the Richmond Area.
