An ocean white water/rock garden video from some of the folks behind Neptune’s Rangers:

Should be viewable even if you don’t have a Facebook account.

Sketchy. Those mussel encrusted rocks are wicked.

Definitely folks who have passed the paddle float skill level.

The opening is great. Says it all in one word.

How many drysuits have these people shredded?

:o Bruising fun for those who’ve got the skills.

Something I might have tried 25 years ago.

… and might not have had the extra 25+ years to consider having not done it

Looks like a Darwin awards competition.

Maybe if they didn’t know what they were doing. They obviously do.

Sea kayakers will newer win the Darwin award. We have already reproduced when we start sea kayaking.

Um… I’m not so sure that’s what was going through the mind of those being dragged over the rocks upside down…

Sure, they are much more skilled and experienced than I am. Likely better than most. But they are certainly taking some big risks, many that cannot be mitigated by skill and experience. I presume they know and accept this fact.

I’ve acknowledged they’re good.

They aren’t invincible.

That guy dragged along the rocks upside down. It hurts watching him. dont care how skilled you are. Rolling while being dragged across rocks just doesn’t work well. The waves wouldn’t scare me at all but the rocks would.

Thank goodness for people like that in all sports (and other endeavors, life itself).
By pushing the limit (sometimes with bad consequences - which they are aware of), they often come up with new skills the rest of us can use, often come up with new, innovated devices/equipment.
Wing paddle (racers), Prijon’s ‘keyhole’ cockpit (WW - to avoid entrapments), etc.
