NOAA weather radio-New Orleans

I bought an ICOM VHF radio and thought it would be “interesting” to hear the weather reports as Katrina moved in.

It has been silent since August 30th. I guess it would be best to get off the water when that happens. ;^)

Has anyone ever heard of NOAA radio going off the air before?

I noticed their radar was out NM

If there is lighting you can’t recieve.
I have notice if there is a lot of lighting in the area you will not be able to recieve a signal. Time to get off the water. FishHawk
