Nope, he doesn't taste like krill

This story just popped up on TV. A kayaker in Patagonia paddling a packraft is briefly swallowed by a Humpback whale. Luckily he’s not hurt and got out of the cold water quickly. Good thing his father and paddling partner was close by.

Wild! Happened to a scuba lobster fisherman down Cape Cod several years ago. The Cape Cod “bait” was in the whale a bit longer but no video to show for it.

I remember the video from several years ago where Tsunami Chuck and Paris the Pup almost got gulped by a bubble-net feeding pod of humpbacks who surfaced right beside them in an Alaskan sound, an event that made the local news up there complete with Chuck’s video from the kayak (Paris never flinched and just kept her stance on the deck and continued barking) and distance clips from a nearby cruise ship full of horrified tourists.

Has happened before…back in 2020 two women off the california coast.

I was quoted in an article in Forbes online about this:

One of the better articles on this, IMHO (and not because I was quoted).

It’s a good thing he was close enough to the whale to get “swallowed” into its mouth. Imagine if he had kept a safe distance instead, he would have missed out on this viral social media moment.
