I live in the Sierra Foothills outside Tahoe and wanted to share my favorites in my area, please chime in!

Folsom Lake
I live in the Bay Area, so don’t get t the foothills all that often. But here are ones that come to mind.
A bit south of you, near Bear Valley, New Spicer Reservoir. Half of it is wilderness, so no motorboats are allowed in that area. The other half they do limit the speed of the boats.
Union and Utica are a couple of other smaller reservoirs near Spicer. You have to take forest roads in to get to them - 4x4 would be nice but not required.
More of a drive:
A lot of the channels in the Delta are nice. One from Locke to Wimpy’s restuarant and marina and back was a nice one.
