North nest key

Wilderness Tripping

I am planning a trip to North Nest Key in April and could use any suggestions.


  1. For instance are campfires allowed?(I would bring my own duraflame log)
  2. Are there designated campsites or is it just anywhere on the beach?
  3. Is it a 36 or 48 beer trip?



    Anything would be helpful from a gear standpoint.

You will want to be in the cove. The only decent beach and not that much of it. You may need a permit as you are in the ENP. Store your food and water in your boat at night. And check with the folks at FBO for any last minute tips, weather and good charts..
About 8 miles out.. A good warmer up trip.. GH
Fires are allowed, logs are good as you won't want to go into the interior..
