OC1 for tall 6' 7" paddler??

A newbie just looking for any input on equipment selection for an OC 1 for a 6’7", 250 lb paddler … Thanx …V

shoot some email to g2d…
…this guy is big.

I mean Sasquatch sized big. His feet are bigger

than most WW playboats.

He may have an idea or two.

I resemble that! Waiting to hear if
he needs an outrigger or an ou’trigger.

Mad river ME
Get one but don’t tell the others, I want one more!

If you’re talking whitewater
The Dagger Caption is the big guy’s boat of choice around here (New England).

Sadly they aren’t made any more.

canoe for a big guy
I have a used Dagger Capri, later called Caption, that I just bought and am going to sell because I don’t like the weight. 14’ outfitted for solo or tandem. I’m in New England. Email me if interested.

Try out a Mad River Outrage X.
I'm 6"4" & weigh nearly 200 lb.
Fully outfitted & with me in it there was still a huge amount of freeboard. Am positive it will handle a 240 pounder.
The Outrage X is a foot shorter than the Caption; it will probably be a lot easier to find than a Caption.
Caption is a great boat; makes a killer tandem boat for 2 good paddlers. I believe that is where the Caption really excels.

BOB

I have liked my Mad River Synergy
though I think if I were even taller and heavier, I would prefer the Caption. Of boats available now, Esquif has some relatively conservative 13 to 14 foot designs worth looking at.

rroberts paddles a Coleman, but he pretends it belongs to a friend.

DOH!

Both have lots of Hawaii OC-1 paddlers who should be able to give you some thoughts.
