Oil Canning

The plastic bottle kids…

Probably don’t know the we had to manually adjust the brake pads and repack wheel bearings.

And they think that the “water displacement” crap sold in spray cans is a real lubricant…

What am I bid?
…how about a two gallon metal container (with handle on top) of “Rugby” brand motor oil??? (also says "Internationally famous for over 50 years…Philadelphia, PA)

I also have an old squeeze can with long tip that the oil will not stop oozing out of, even when stored upright…what the heck is causing that?

Oil canning can be really annoying,
more than anything else. I’m sure that the minor oil canning I experienced in my former canoe was not significant enough to affect my recreational performance, but it bothered me that the hull did seem to “bend” at times from water pressure. If you are sure that it won’t bother you, then it’s ok. Otherwise, go with a stiffer hull.
