Any advice on removing and replacing a small area of the 1st poly layer and foam in the triple layer Old Town Loon126 hull? This would be for installing an interior transducer under the seat area preferably. My thought are using a small flap wheel disc. Remove the two interior layers. Replace the same amount of material (or more- if I fill the keel depression) with slow cure 2 part epoxy then install the foam “bath tub” (Garmin makes one) to hold the transducer. That foam does not allow the Transducer’s signal to pass through this hull.
I had this setup in my previous single layer kayak and it worked flawlessly, was perfectly out of the way and no drag while paddling. GT20 Garmin Transducer.
