Hello! I just picked up a bit of a beater of a canoe - after some amateur sleuthing it looks to be an Old Town Wahoo sailing canoe. Despite being a life-long Mainer, I had never heard of these before! It needs a little love, but appears to be in perfectly fine floating condition (not bad for $200), but it got me thinking about the model, its history, and whether or not I want to take on the idea of getting her sailing again (or just dub around the lake/river instead).
Does anyone know about the Wahoo? Suggestions for amateur restoration? Any other thoughts on how i’d find out more about ye olde Wahoo?
