Oostanaula River, GA

Since the weather is gorgeous around Chattanooga, I am going to be doing a quick n’ dirty little spur-of-the-moment canoe trip (2-3 days) this week. I thought I’d do the Oostanaula River in north GA between Calhoun and Rome (approx. 50 miles). Is anyone familiar with this stretch that could give me any useful info (namely on camping)? Thanks for any info.

I would use Google Earth to scout
from space. It’s often possible to identify where campsites are more likely to be found. Personally, I’d be more interested in the Conasauga. By being below carpetland, the Oostenaula is under some stress. At least they’ve had some rain up there recently.
