Overnighting S. ME or NH coast?

We’re heading up to Boothbay this weekend from the MA north shore and hoping to find a spot somewhere in southern Maine or New Hampshire where we could put in Friday evening and paddle to a campsite to stay the night. Nothing too long, since we’re heading up after work on Friday. Just looking for a pretty spot. Any recommendations? We’re paddling two 17’ Tempests, so open water isn’t a problem.

Thanks!

or further up Hockomock Bay, Castle or Erratic or Little Bare..or down Goose Rocks passage to Whittum.

Its only five miles paddling to Boothbay Harbor but 45 minute drive.

Beal is quite nice but check with AMC to find availability. Its a one NM paddle to camp.

too bad you didnt ask earlier. You will be arriving in the dark..somehow paddling in unfamiliar waters doesnt seem like a good idea. Dark is about 8 and depending on that traffic, will you get there in time..its about three hours with good traffic.
