Any suggestions on rivers to kayak/canoe and primitive camping in Central Illinois? 1-2 nights. Would like to camp along the river. Thanks for your suggestions

I had some terrific camping along the river last summer in August/Sept. Huge sandbars, wildlife, very few people. Pretty much camp anywhere along the river. One does have to watch the water level and stay aware of towboats and barges.
How many days you planning to go?
The stretch between Chester and Cape Girardeau is real nice.
