Hi, Wylam is in Northumberland on the river Tyne in the UK.
Not going to be too helpful here. Not many SUP paddlers from the UK who frequent the board here. I’d look for local clubs or shops for adivce. I hve been to Newcastle and Tynemouth, but not on the water, as you go inland I don’t recall what the tidal estuary looks like there. But with many places with flat river basins, timing with tides will be very important, so best to find some locals to talk with.
