Paddle question

I am thinking of buying a kayak paddle for my canoe and wondering how do I measure for it? What type of blade? I am 6 feet tall and will use it mainly on open water paddling when fishing. Some water may be a little choppy as well. The canoe is 16’6". Any help would be greatly appreciated

Wrong tool.
But it can be used with some success.

I would get the longest thing you can.

There is no scienc eto this but waht ever you can get to push a canoe along is fine.

I have an old Clement that is 8’ long
and has been long enough for a variety of canoes. I later bought a Werner Camano, on sale, 240 cm, and found it too short. Maybe that will give you a start.
