Am going to be in the Washington DC area over Labor Day and am looking for folks in the area and would want to paddle some on the Potomac or other waters in the area.
By the Key bridge in DC

Which is the more scenic? Upstream or down?
Both
Upstream is all green, up to the gorge at the base of little falls. Excellent scenery. Get out at Fletchers boathouse if you need a leg-stretch.
Downstream provides views of the cityscape and monuments. Plus an airport. Excellent scenery. Limited places to get out, try Gravely Point, Colombia Marina or Thompsons boathouse. If you turn up the Anacostia you could get out at the new docks by the Nationals ball park.
