Anyone interested in a trip to Horn Island this weekend?

I’m thinking of putting in around Biloxi early Saturday, spend the night and back Sunday morning.

I live in OS and am a beginning kayaker. I went to Deer Island from Front Beach on my second paddle and thought I had accomplished something! How long does it generally take to get to Horn Island, how big of a boat do you actually need and is it a fairly safe trip? I assume you need an ocean kayak for this, right?

I have a seda Gypsy.

It will take about 4 hours, a little more.

I plan to put in at Pascagoula. So about 7 miles out there.

How was the Horn Island trip? Hope the summer bugs did not bother you too badly. Love our barrier islands by kayak Oct - Apr.
