Not limited to Boston. But here in SF those electric scooters seem to be the preferable thing to toss into the Bay now.

Given it was “spotted floating” (even in dense saltwater) it must be both very light and with those huge balloon tires.

I use a scooter for “last mile” intermodal commuting when I take a break from my bike. Also, it is what I take with me in my luggage when I travel to other cities. Mostly, I get asked, “Is that battery power?” (No, it’s foot power.) Hopefully, I am not going to get some jaundiced look the next time I am out in the Bay Area…

So if the thief dumped a stolen Corvette in the bay the environmentalists would call Chevy to remove it?

Well, if Chevy operated a ride-share program that offered Corvettes to be rented and left wherever, and with no way to track their location, I would say yes.
