Photobucket - easy and free. Just remember to log in at least every two months or they delete your images (think it’s two months).

Geez, I didn't know that, or if I did I forgot. Does beg the question of what "use" means, would you really need to have logged in or is it simply sufficient that someone viewed one of your pictures.

It’s got a great community & outings & nice people.
Although somewhat limited in space
available for photos, a Yahoo group is quite easy to start, manage, and it is free. Many people I know use them to coordinate paddling trips that involve a lot of logistics/lead time.
In addition to the photo storage, there is a file section, link section, polls, and a threaded message capability per group. All of this geared towards the non-programmer/casual user.
