which one would be better for mostly lakes,some gulf,maybe a few guide trips? thanks

It’s a personal choice. Do you want load capacity (go with the Kodiak) or maneuverability (Scorpio)? Do you prefer rudder (Kodiak) or skeg (Scorpio)? As a guide, are you more concerned with carrying your clients’ gear (Kodiak) or being nimble enough to get to them quickly (Scorpio)?

I’ve owned a Kodiak and paddled a Scorpio (own a Capella). In addition to what the previous poster offered, the Kodiak has about an inch or so more beam, but feels wider. It feels stable and the Scorpio lively. I lean toward the Scorpio’s outfitting, but check them out and decide for yourself.
