Does anyone here do anything special to protect your kayak like wax? i am very new to the sport and just want to keep my stuff in good shape. any suggestions?

Worry more abotu the rigging
Doesn’t say what kind of boat you have, but basically as above 303 for plastic or marine waxes made for fiberglass for composite. And 303 is fine for UV pretectant on glass as well.
But the rigging is what you’ll be hanging onto if you get dumped. Make sure you don’t let that get dried out by UV or salt.
