Purchasing First kayak need some advise

So I am getting a used feelfree lure 13.5 tomorrow and wondered if these spots should be an area of concern.

Thanks for any help!

Doubt you will know til you get there and look. From the photos it could be anything from piles of mouse poop to burnt plastic or bullet holes. Seller does not “see this as a problem” because he doesn’t care about anything but selling it. I would not bother to look at a boat that grubby. If a seller is serious he should clean it up.

It looks like the previous owner stuck a hot fireplace poker in it. Or let some kind of acid drip on it. Or used the cupholders for a job more challenging than holding cups. There’s probably an interesting story behind this. But it’s hard to tell without being there. The main thing to note with that damage is whether it penetrated all the way through and created an entry point such that anything that splashes or spills into the cupholder ends up in your bilge. If so, it looks like something you could clean up and plug yourself, but that effort should factor in your offer.

I agree with @willowleaf that I would normally expect a seller to clean up whatever they are selling. The dirtiness of the boat could indicate it’s been neglected.

These look to be spots that they tried to repair. either by melting plastic, poorly, or using JB-Weld.

Either way if they are repairs they were done quite poorly.
