Quick ? About 2-Piece Paddles

Congrats!
That’s a super nice paddle.

I have to wait until next spring, as my outfitter just switched over from paddle sports to snow sports. The paddles have been replaced by ski poles. Sigh.

I’m currently using a 220cm fiberglass paddle and the Werner guide comes up with 205 or 210cm. Can’t demo them until May 2015 at the earliest.

I don't know your stats, I'm female, 5'7" (LONG arms though - I'm a monkey), and usually paddle a 21-22" boat. I tried the 205, 210, and 215 - we went out for a 14 mile paddle and I kept rotating paddles to compare, and ended up liking the 205 the most. Even the really tall guys that work at the shop prefer the 205 even though the online guides recommend a bit longer. I was so skeptical and doubted I'd even notice any type of difference between the 205 and the 210 but I felt it immediately. It's a pricey purchase so don't rush it. Try to demo a couple different lengths before you bite the big one. I tried the Shuna too (carbon shaft, FG paddle) but with the Shuna at $275 and the Cyprus at $400, in the long run I'd rather pay the extra $125 for the Cyprus. I looked online at the specs and it said it was only a 3 oz. difference but it feels really big when you're holding one in each hand!
