Hi I am seeking to refoam the internal foam front and back(both missing) for Perception Dancer
(not sure of model: Dancer, Pro, XS or XT/‘XL’ etc) any advice appropriate dimensions appreciated, I have reached out to Perception
v.recently but not heard back yet.
If factory replacements are not available it’s easy to make them. Here is where I buy foam.
Cut all your pieces oversize. I go about 3/4 over and if that’s too tight I slowly trim them to fit about 1/8" at a time when I have done restorations on such older kayaks.
It’s fast and easy
WW kayaks (actually, seakayaks w/out bulkheads as well) use float bags.
eg: Kayak Outfitting, Float Bags & Accessories | NRS
(or google float bags)
The Dancer used foam not as much for flotation as it was for hull stiffing. Unless I misunderstood, that’s what the OP is looking for.
But yes, it’s a very good idea to have float bags too.
