A friend and I are thinking about driving down to paddle in Florida for a few days. We’d bring a couple of 12-14’ touring boats. or maybe a 9’ crossover… or maybe a seayak… so many choices!
Anyway, we’d be looking for places to just tour around, paddle easy and enjoy the water… maybe someplace with manatees? Maybe do a little snorkeling too.

One of my favorites to spend a day is Silver Springs State Park. The Suwanee River has several parks along it .
You’ll probably get many more suggestions including some beautiful spring runs.
The Weeki Wachee and Crystal rivers have lots of manatees. They also have them in Spring Bayou, off of the Anclote.
Manatees run up any spring fed river, in the winter, because all Florida springs are 72 degrees.
Be careful of them, I know two people who got between a manatee and something and ended up with a broken boat.
