Rehanging seats

My Bell canoe has aluminum seat hangers pop rivetted into the side of canoe. Unfortunately the rivets popped out on one of the seats. I’m now considering hanging the seats from the inwale, utilizing a wooden seat hanger and bolts.

Any other suggestions? or is this the best way to repair the seats?

Skip the rivits?
Never personally cared for the way seat hangers are rivited to through the hulls of boats. Consider drilling ALL of 'em out, and replacing them with SS pan-head screws and locking nuts. Larger heads than rivits, better stress distribution, and simpler to service.

Nylock Nuts
Agree that since the holes are already there and need to be filled, just use Stainless steel machine screws and nylock nuts to keep everything from vibrating apart in transit.
