Anyone have suggestions on how to replace the skeg slider knob on an Impex Assateague? The plastic slider knob with allen set screw that clamps on the skeg wire also slides on a stainless tube set beneath the skeg wire. The knob is split so the set screw threads are essentially stripped so it needs to be replaced.
It looks like the stainless tube should be able to be moved forward or back to allow a new knob to be slid back on but it doesn’t appear movable. Under deck it’s completely glassed in.
