Is there a way to return an old fiberglass canoe that has faded badly from UV? …or will it just return to faded no matter what? … Thanks, Joe.
Try went sanding a spot with 1000 then 2000 grit. Then buff it if it shows promise.
I just used a buffing pad and rubbing compound… The oxidation came right off and then I waxed it with McGuires. Its not new perfect but much better looking
If it’s real bad, you’ll most likely need to wet sand. I’d try some rubbing compound first to see if that works though. This was an obviously badly oxidized boat that need wet sanding, but the oxidation was about as bad as I’ve seen.
Paint it and save a lot of work.
