Retirement Offers Flexibility and Options For Pursuits!

Just cancelled my camping reservation for the coming week in a state park. Forecast is for a series of weak weather disturbances over New England and into the Gulf of Maine. Looks to be an extended window of surf opportunities on 2’-5’ waves for the week ahead.

Given the choice, I take the waves and the adrenaline rush anytime, at the expense of a $15 cancellation fee for my camping reservation. So, the challenge is to pace myself and select the appropriate ride for a particular day – waveski, surf kayak or longboat? Good problem!

Mahalo (for having options and opportunities in the “go-go” years)!!!

Enjoy it while you can.
The pace gets slower.

Yup, It’s inevitable. I try to keep the “sense of urgency” and, yes, giddiness tamped down and to enjoy these moments. But, the “flip side” is coming at some point.

Maybe. Seems like I sweat earlier and work more retired than when working for money.

Another 1 who made it to retirement! Congrats and paddle on!

We had some disturbing weather in Algonquin park…trees down…noted that its obvious some ignore weather…if i get a hint of bad weather i would cancel too… 1 of our parks was destroyed tge other week…Samuel de Champlain prov park is gone!

Yeah, all those years of work, kids, chores and trying to squeeze in some lone time for a surf paddle, a fishing trip, a hike… usually at the expense of sleep…

Getting old can have an “upside…”
