Rhodadendron hunting on Jocassee

The bloom is past peak, so in spite of some lingering cold stuff in my head, today had to be the day. We were on the water by 8:30 and saw only 2 boats . At 11:30, it was getting crowded. Lots of canoes and kayaks.
We captured our prey.
A cloudy, beautiful morning.

Those are “Great Laurel”.
At our place we have those, Rhodondendrons and Mountain Laurel.
I like the mountain laurel the best
