Riffe Lake

Anyone thinking about paddling on Riffe Lake in Washington, maybe it would be better to stop at Mayfield Lake instead. The water level in Riffe is not at the normal summer time level. I couldn’t tell for sure, but it looked like the water level was down over 10 feet. Even though the lake is still over 700 feet deep, the shore line is completely different. Where there used to be islands, they are now connected to the mainland and there are some new islands where there were none. Many of the bays are now dry land.

Mayfield is good with the normal summer time level.

we’re going to Winthrop …
