River classification guide?

Hey guys-

I’m trying to put together a short web guide to rafting and kayaking, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good visual guide to the different river classes. A video, or a chart, something like that, as opposed to just the descriptions of Class I, II, etc. Anyone know anything?

Thats a hard one because
visuals do not convey the power of the water or the many aspect that go into rating as well as the words do.

I have seen a few line drawings, but they still do not do them justice. You run into things like people saying “thats not what it looked like in the picture” if they get in over their head…which people are apt to do.

if you click through the links in the table, you get sample rapids and pics...

Hard to apply different water levels, etc.
And not much help if you haven't paddled any of the samples.
