I know I am on the wrong board. But let me ask the question anyway since there are quite a few bikers and paddlers here. There is a Thule 525 roof mount for sale on Craigslist. This model has been discontinued. Was there a recall or something wrong with it? Any risk in losing my bike from the roof?

Only if you drive into the garage under
the condo you rented at the beach, like I did many moons ago, in which case a break-away rack would have been wonderful!
Rest of story: It was a Yakama rain gutter mount rack, and tour the rain gutters off the vehicle, but did absolutely no damage to the rack system, and thankfully all that it did to the bike was damage the seat.
Sorry I didn’t mean to jump into your post, but your stirred up a old memory.
