I fly the American Flag from a 1/2" PVC post painted black, with refective tape on the top...It also holds my 360 degree light for night paddles.
Like this...mounted to the supports for the outriggers (Used only with my sail..)....

the state of Massachusetts
was trying to pass a law that said that every kayak had to have a pole (like this one) with a flag to warn m-boaters about the kayak…
i think that the inability to roll was used to fight against the state passing that law…
just think of trying to roll in 3’ with a 4’ pole…SUCKY!(especially in mud)
